About the Job Vacancy Survey
In the fall of 2005, the New Jersey Department of Labor and Workforce Development conducted a job vacancy/hiring needs survey for the State of New Jersey and its labor areas. Using a telephone survey, more than 6,000 companies were contacted in the major industry groups.
The results of the survey allow jobseekers to see what kinds of jobs are in demand in late 2005 and during 2006 and help workforce decision-makers to plan and evaluate their job placement, and workforce development program needs. Employers benefit from current labor market information, such as wages and benefits offered for occupations similar to those that they are employing.
